Method 1 — Use an existing ring

Find a ring that fits the intended finger comfortably.
Place it flat and measure the inner diameter (inside edge to inside edge) in mm.

Method 2 — Wrap and measure

Wrap a thin strip of paper around the base of your finger.
Mark where it overlaps — measure that length in mm (your circumference).
Divide by 3.1416 (π) to get your diameter, then use the Measure a ring tab.

Tip: Middle finger sizes typically run half a size larger than the ring finger. If between sizes, go up. Measure in the evening — fingers are slightly larger then.

What covers both pointed ends of this marquise?
Two V-shaped metal prongs cover the marquise’s points, while four side claws hold its curved edges. Sections of the edge remain exposed between those contacts. Remove the ring for lifting or activities that risk hard knocks to the setting.

Why are there polished gaps between the round shoulder diamonds?
The approximately six round accents are set separately, with visible metal between them. They contribute approximately 0.14 ct without creating a continuous pavé strip or a halo around the marquise.

Does every center option measure 11.58 mm long?
The approximately 11.58 × 5.94 × 3.72 mm measurements describe the 1.51 ct reference center only. Other center choices retain the marquise shape and prong arrangement, but their stone dimensions and setting proportions differ.

Will a straight wedding band clear the marquise’s V-shaped end guards?
The two end guards extend beyond the shoulder line, so the lower shank’s estimated 1.80 mm width does not establish clearance beside the head. Check a companion band against the completed setting at both ends and beside the shoulder diamonds.

How should I clean the separate round settings and V-shaped guards?
