Signora Jewels sets the 10.14 × 7.21 mm oval step cut high enough for its long facets to stay fully visible. Six prongs secure the center at the ends and sides, while an open gallery leaves space beneath the stone. The surrounding engagement ring shoulders are built from marquise and small round diamonds arranged like leaves rather than a conventional halo.
The center rises to approximately 7.0 mm. Below it, the shank narrows to about 1.70 mm wide and 1.70 mm thick, keeping the lower half restrained while the floral shoulders spread to roughly 6.0–7.0 mm near the center. The result is a ring that looks detailed from the front without hiding the elongated oval outline.
Design highlights
The contrast is the point of this design: broad, mirror-like step facets in the center against smaller brilliant-cut flashes along the shoulders. The marquise stones carry the leaf shape outward, while the round accents fill the spaces between them without closing the design into a halo.
An oval step cut produces broad bands of light and contrast rather than the finer sparkle pattern of a brilliant cut. At 10.14 mm long, this center has enough face-up length for those steps to read clearly. See the diamond stone guide for more on cut, color and clarity.
This design is made in silver, 10K, 14K and 18K yellow, white or rose gold, plus platinum. White metals keep the shoulder diamonds visually continuous with the center; yellow and rose gold make the leaf structure easier to distinguish. Compare the options in the metal guide. Use warm water, mild soap and a soft brush around the open gallery and between the shoulder stones.
How does the oval step cut look compared with a brilliant-cut oval?
The 10.14 × 7.21 mm center shows broader flashes and stronger bands of contrast. Its longer step facets give the stone a calmer, more geometric light pattern than a brilliant-cut oval.
Why is the center set above the floral shoulders?
The center rises to approximately 7.0 mm so its full elongated outline remains visible above the marquise-and-round clusters. The open gallery also leaves the underside accessible for cleaning.
Will a straight wedding band sit completely flush?
The sculpted shoulder clusters and elevated center occupy space beside the ring, so a straight band can leave a small gap. A contoured band will follow the floral profile more closely.
Which metal makes the leaf details easiest to see?
Yellow and rose gold create the strongest visual contrast around the marquise and round diamonds. White gold and platinum make the stones and setting read as a more continuous bright surface.
How should the floral shoulders be cleaned?
Use a soft brush around the marquise tips, between the smaller round accents and underneath the elevated gallery. Those recessed areas collect more residue than the plain lower shank.
