A Portuguese cut round lab grown diamond engagement ring from Signora Jewels.
An approximately 3.00 ct Portuguese cut round brilliant measuring 8.75 mm is secured in a six-prong open lotus basket above a pinched comfort-fit shank.
Made to order in 11 metals: Silver, 9K/14K/18K Gold (Yellow, White and Rose) and Platinum.
Each metal color is shown in the photos. Choose your preferred center diamond weight and metal from the options on this page.
The Portuguese cut is known for its intricate facet arrangement, producing layers of reflections that continue deep into the center of the diamond. At Signora Jewels, six evenly spaced prongs hold the stone within an open lotus basket that allows light to reach the pavilion from every direction while preserving the round outline.
The pinched shoulders narrow gently beneath the basket before flowing into a 2.10 mm comfort-fit shank, giving the larger center diamond a balanced appearance. With an approximate setting height of 8.20 mm, the elevated basket creates an airy side profile while maintaining a secure six-prong structure.

Design highlights
The lotus basket remains visible beneath the diamond rather than disappearing behind it, adding detail from the side while leaving the round silhouette clean from above. The pinched shoulders naturally draw the eye toward the center without the need for accent stones.

What makes a Portuguese cut different from a standard round brilliant?
The Portuguese cut has many additional facets that create layered reflections throughout the diamond. This produces greater visual depth while maintaining a classic round outline.
Why does this ring use a lotus basket?
The lotus basket supports the diamond with six evenly spaced prongs while allowing light to enter from beneath through the open gallery. It also creates an elegant floral profile from the side.
Will the 3.00 ct center feel too high?

White gold and platinum maximize the crisp appearance of the Portuguese cut, while yellow and rose gold provide warm contrast around the brilliant center diamond.
