Shop best sellersHow a stone survives your life is largely a question of hardness. Sapphire and ruby take daily wear in stride and are happy in rings; emerald and opal sit lower on the scale, chip more readily, and are better suited to earrings and pendants — or to protective settings if they must live on a hand. Our gemstone encyclopedia rates each stone for everyday wear before you fall for a color.
Across the jewelry trade, many colored gemstones receive standard treatments as a matter of routine. There is nothing improper about accepted practice — but you deserve to know exactly what applies to the stone you are buying. Ask us about any piece before you order and we will tell you plainly how its stone was made and finished. If a detail matters to you, it matters to us; that is the whole policy.
Metal changes a stone's temperature: yellow gold deepens warm stones like ruby and golden sapphire, white metals sharpen blues and greens, and rose gold flatters pinks and lavender hues. Hold color near the skin that will wear it — some complexions light up next to warm stones, others next to cool ones. Once chosen, keep each stone's habits in mind; our care guide lists what every stone tolerates.
Signora's colored gemstones are lab-created — the same crystal structure, color, and hardness as their mined counterparts, grown in controlled conditions. Where a design pairs a colored stone with a diamond, that diamond is lab-grown, with IGI certification on center stones.
It depends on the stone. Sapphire and ruby are hard enough for daily hands; emerald and opal prefer gentler outings or a home in earrings and pendants. Check the stone's entry in the gemstone encyclopedia before making it your everyday ring.
Warm water, a drop of mild soap, and a soft brush suit the durable stones; never put emerald or opal in an ultrasonic cleaner. Store colored pieces apart so harder stones cannot scratch softer ones — the jewelry care and repairs guide goes stone by stone.
Every gemstone piece is made to order, so count on around 14 days from order to delivery. Duties and taxes are prepaid for the US, UK, and Canada, and free insured express shipping applies over $500.
Standard designs have a 30-day return and exchange window, with return shipping covered by Signora for the US, UK, and Canada. Fully custom commissions — including bespoke colorways — are final sale.

Clear information about materials, finishing, fit and everyday care — before you choose your piece.
Every Signora piece is made in solid precious metal — never plated or filled. Available options can include 925 sterling silver, 9K, 14K or 18K yellow, white or rose gold, and Pt950 platinum. Stone and certification details are listed on each product page.
Each order is finished by hand in our family workshop in Surat. White gold is palladium-based, nickel-free and rhodium-finished; yellow and rose gold are polished to their natural warmth; platinum develops a soft patina with wear.
Wipe your piece after wear and store it separately in its pouch or box. Remove jewelry before swimming, showering, exercise or contact with lotions and cleaning products. For deeper cleaning, use lukewarm water, mild soap and a very soft brush; ask a jeweler to check stone settings periodically.
Ring sizes and bracelet, necklace or chain lengths vary by design, so confirm the options on the product page before checkout. Because every piece is made to order, contact Client Care before ordering if you need a custom size or are unsure about fit.
